Keep Listening

The last few weeks have taken me from quiet bookstores in coastal towns to late-night Q&As in theaters filled with readers who remind me why I do this work. I’ve signed books in places I’ve never been, hugged people who’ve carried my characters in their hearts, and heard stories from women who said “this book said the thing I never could.” That’s the kind of sentence that keeps me writing when the blank page feels like a dare.

A few highlights:

• I wrapped up a mini book tour through the Pacific Northwest — thank you to everyone who came out, brought tea, or asked the hard questions.

• I was featured on the Kindred Words podcast, where we talked about the messiness of healing, fictional women who don’t apologize, and how writing is sometimes more about listening than telling.

• I spent a few days writing in a borrowed cabin near the woods, trying to wrangle the early threads of what I hope will become my next novel. It’s still tender and unnamed, but it’s there.

What’s Next

• I’ll be speaking at The Rooted Word Conference in October — sharing thoughts on narrative, inner voice, and how stories shape the futures we believe in.

• A limited batch of Saltwater Myth signed copies will be restocked in the shop this Friday — these are the ones with the handwritten notes inside.

• And yes… there’s a new story unfolding. Slowly. Honestly. It has water and memory and one woman trying to find her way back to something she lost a long time ago.

I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again: thank you. For reading. For showing up. For letting my stories live in your hands and hearts. I never take that lightly.
